Northants Senior Youth League

....season in excellent fashion, by winning the Northants Senior Youth League Cup with a 4-1 victory over AFC Kempston at Corby Town`s Steel Park.

Following a 15 minute delay to the kick-off due to floodlight problems, the Diamonds fell behind early on after ‘keeper Ashley Foulger misjudged a free-kick from Gareth Hunt.

Diamonds fought back strongly, urged on by the tremendous vocal support from behind the goal, and turned it round to lead at the half-time interval, courtesy of goals from Conor Bell and James Harrison.

Diamonds also hit the post and had a Harrison shot hacked off the line as the `phoenix` club began to dominate.

The second half saw the Diamonds further stamp their authority on the game, and added goals from Bell again with a near post header from a Louis Smith corner and then Fred Deveraux, who put the icing on the cake on a wonderful night for the fledgling club watched by an official attendance of 479.
